Dimenshot ships Easy, Medium, and Hard difficulties, added in the September 5, 2026 Demo Update. The Steam Leaderboards are split per tier so you only compete on the same tier. Flexberg Games has not published a per-tier stat sheet; one Standard-difficulty player reports healing-per-melee-hit feeling too low and improving on higher difficulty, but that is not an official balance statement.

What each tier is called

The three tiers, in the order they appear in the in-game picker:

  • Easy: the most forgiving tier.
  • Medium: the default-ish middle tier.
  • Hard: the highest public tier.

The Steam Leaderboards are split to match each difficulty, so you only compete against players on the same tier.

How the tiers differ in current play

Flexberg Games has publicly stated that combat and difficulty balance will be tuned using real player data during Early Access. There is no public Flexberg post or Steam news note that documents the exact gameplay differences between Easy, Medium, and Hard today.

What is publicly known to change:

  • Steam Leaderboards split per difficulty, so the player pool on the boards is tier-specific.
  • Per-level letter ranks (S, A, etc.) display on the level select screen per run on the chosen tier.

What is publicly reported anecdotally, not officially:

  • A Lethargos boss report on Standard difficulty says healing-per-parry and healing-per-melee-hit feel too low on Standard but acceptable on higher difficulty, implying healing output scales upward with difficulty rather than being fixed per hit. This is one player's experience and is not part of any official balance post.
  • No source from Flexberg Games or Steam currently documents exact differences such as enemy health, damage taken, healing rates, ammo drops, or parry timing windows.

What to pick first

Until Flexberg publishes a per-tier stat sheet, treat the tier picker as a heuristic choice:

  • Pick Easy when you want a learning run, when you are testing a boss you have not seen, or when you want faster ranks.
  • Pick Medium if you want the closest thing to a "default" Dimenshot experience.
  • Pick Hard when you have already cleared a layer once and want to push higher combo scores in Endless Mode.

If you switch tiers mid-run, remember the leaderboards are per tier. Your new run starts a fresh scoreboard. See the Dimenshot Endless Mode page for the score-attack mode where the tier picker matters most.

FAQ

What changes between Easy, Medium, and Hard?

Flexberg has confirmed the three tier names and that Steam Leaderboards are split per tier. They have not published a per-tier stat sheet (enemy health, damage, healing rates, parry timing). One player-reported anecdote says healing scales upward with difficulty, but Flexberg has not confirmed the formula.
